LET THERE BE MUSIC
Lynne Shelly has dedicated most of her swimming career to teaching adults and hasdeveloped her own unique teaching method using music, with some quite amazing results.
For many years the adults that Lynne taught would attend classes untilthey could swim safely, had learned basic strokes and for somegained STA’s distance awards. However after 15 years of practicingthis method, Lynne had to rethink her teaching approach when someof the members of the class who had achieved a good level of skillswanted to progress to an even higher level. Lynne explains how sheachieved this: “Through my experience I understood the importance ofrepetition to enforce teaching points, so to make the sessions moreinteresting I decided to use a little music.
