NaRS First Aid Qualifications

Basic Life Support

Combines both adult and paediatric resuscitation and the choking procedures to offer the essential skills of Basic Life Support following the new cardiopulmonary resuscitation protocols.


First Aid at Work

A 24 hour course (revalidations 12 hours) meeting the requirements for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Additional Units

Optional units covering complete spinal management for a land based environment; supplementary oxygen; manual suction and paediatric resuscitation.


First Aid Appointed Person

A 4 hour course enabling participants to take charge of first aid arrangements, including looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the emergency services when required.

Paediatric First Aid Certificate

A 6 hour course covering Basic Life Support for children and babies, and management of some common paediatric first aid problems, which is tutor assessed.

Paediatric First Aid Qualification

A 12 hour course covering Basic Life Support for children and babies, and management of some common paediatric first aid problems, which is externally assessed.

Emergency Responder

A 4 hour course enabling those with proven prior knowledge and experience in primary life support to deliver the safe application of Automated External Defibrillation.
