NaRS First Aid Qualifications
First Aid at Work
A 18 hour course (revalidations 12 hours) meeting the requirements for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
Emergency First Aid at Work
A 6 hour course providing knowledge on how to act as an appointed person to take charge of the first aid arrangements, including looking after first aid equipment and facilities and calling the Emergency Services when required. From October 2009 HSE will approve this as a first aider qualification.
Emergency First Aid for Sport
A 8 hour course providing knowledge on how to act as a first aider to take charge of the first aid arrangements, including looking after first aid equipment and facilities and calling the Emergency Services when required. It will also provide learners with the ability to respond to emergency first aid situations that may arise while coaching, officiating, helping or participating in sport. The NaRS EFAS course includes the Emergency First Aid at Work module which is approved by the HSE.
Additional Units
Optional units covering complete spinal management for a land based environment; supplementary oxygen; manual suction and paediatric resuscitation.
First Aid Appointed Person
A 4 hour course enabling participants to take charge of first aid arrangements, including looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the emergency services when required.
Paediatric First Aid Foundation
A 6 hour course covering Basic Life Support for children and babies, and management of some common paediatric first aid problems, which is tutor assessed.
Paediatric First Aid Qualification
A 12 hour course covering Basic Life Support for children and babies, and management of some common paediatric first aid problems, which is tutor assessed.
Emergency Responder & Emergency Responder Plus
A 4 hour course enabling those with proven prior knowledge and experience in primary life support to deliver the safe application of Automated External Defibrillation. ER+ is an additional 2 hours and has the additional application of facemask and supplimentary oxygen included.
Immediate Aid
A 4 hour course covering the Appointed Person programme and Basic Life Support for Children.
Cricket Coach - First Aid
A 4 hour course covering the Appointed Person Programme, Basic Life Support for Children and management of some common cricket specific injuries.
Golf Coach - First Aid
A 4 hour course covering the Appointed Person Programme, Basic Life Support for Children and management of some common golf specific injuries.
Martial Arts Coach - First Aid
A 4 hour course covering the Appointed Person Programme, Basic Life Support for Children and management of some common injuries specific to martial arts training.
Ice Skating Coach First Aid Appointed Person
A 6 hour course covering the Appointed Person Programme, Basic Life Support for Children and management of some common injuries specific to ice skating.
Netball Coach First Aid Appointed Person
A 6 hour course covering the Appointed Person Programme, Basic Life Support for Children and management of some common injuries specific to netball.
RFU Emergency First Aid for Sport
A 6 hour course covering the NaRS Emergency First Aid at Work unit with an extra rugby sports related injuries unit which prepare volenteers, coaches and officials for their work pitch-side.
First Aid Teacher/Examiner
A 28 hour course providing underpinning knowledge on how to become a fully qualified First Aid Teacher/Examiner.
First Aid Teacher/Examiner Conversion
Experienced First Aid Trainers can now convert their qualification to STA either by distance learning or by attending a short 6 hour course.
Basic Life Support Certificate
A 2 hour certifiacte covering Basic Life Support for Children and Adults.
Bag-Valve Mask Module
A 2 hour course providing underpinning knowledge for current first aiders or pool rescuers on how to use a bag-valve-mask resuscitation system as part of a team responding to a casualty requiring resuscitation.
Adrenaline Auto-Injection Module
A 2 hours course providing knowledge to first aiders on how to deal with people with Anaphylactic reactions using an Adrenaline Auto-Injector.
Adrenaline Auto-Injection Tutor Module
A 3 hour course that enables Teacher/Examiners to teach the NaRS Adrenaline Auto-Injection Module.
NaRS Advanced Resuscitation Teacher/Examiner
A 8 hour course that enables Teacher/Examiners to teach NaRS ER/ER+, NaRS BVM & Manual Suction Modules.
NaRS FAW Spinal Teacher/Examiner
A 4 hour course that enables Teacher/Examiners to teach the Spinal Unit (Includes Collars, Standing Spinal & Log Rolls)
