BABY SWIM SCHOOL GAINS TOP ACCREDITATION
21.07.2005
A Manchester based Baby Swim Company has been awarded the prestigious STAmark accreditation after a rigorous six-month assessment, it was announced today.
Aqua Babies, who have four pools in the Cheshire and South Manchester area, are the first Baby Swim organisation to gain the STAmark, which has been developed by the Swimming Teachers Association (STA) as a Quality Award to help SwimSchools, and similar organisations that teach swimming, to improve the quality of service standards, and to recognise good industry practice.
Wendy Edmondson, Managing Director of Aqua Babies, explained: “Gaining the STAmark is brilliant! We chose to work towards it because the STA is the only organisation that recognises Baby Swimming, and we had already been working very successfully with them for some time.”
“We work with babies from a very young age, right through to about four years old, and it’s imperative for us a Company to show that we are maintaining the very highest possible standards, and that we have the expertise that parents have the right to expect. The STAmark shows all of this, and more!”
Aqua Babies is one of the largest and best known of the Baby Swim Companies, and offers specialist hydro-pools that are warmer than regular swimming pools. They also provide structured courses, which follow a pattern of developmental learning.
The STAmark is recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), and as the only nationally recognised quality mark that externally validates and recognises safe practices and standards in SwimSchools and similar operations, the STAmark has a strong bias towards both safety and recognition of how effective and efficient the SwimSchool is in managing its business.
There is a clear focus on assessing the range, scope and quality of the organisations Teaching Programmes and their respective learning outcomes. There is also recognition given to other non STA Teaching qualifications and awards that are nationally recognised and consideration is given to any external award(s) that the respective organisation may have already achieved.
