ARE YOU USING ILLEGAL MUSIC?

by Natalie Sidwell, STA Aquacise Development Officer
Growing up I’m sure most of us have attempted to record the Sunday evening chart music; attempting to catch the track without the DJ interrupting... many of us in the teaching industry know that the Music Copyright and legalities of using legal music is a complex business.
As part of its Aquacise training programme, STA is actively promoting the importance of using Legal Music. There are many music subscribers in operation today providing music for specific classes, however many of them can be quite costly with monthly subscription fees for example. All this can be very daunting when first qualifying as an Aquacise Instructor.
To overcome this issue, STA has added a new development into Aquacise and will now be providing music as part of the training course. Whilst this is not a compulsory requirement of the tutor, STA believes it will assist in the training of music, and its uses. The course candidates will then have legal music to go away and teach with. STA has been working hard to establish links with a supplier of Licence free music, and is now able to provide a wide range of music from Powermusic & Exercise4fitness. This music can be played without the use of a Licence, how and when you want...
The CDs are also available to purchase from the STA, and they include '60's Pop Powermix', '17 Again', Superstrings Step, Tribute to U2 & Abba, Step goes to Rock, and All the hits! Step now! Prices start from £15.00.
