19.10.2006

STA has today announced a partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Esporta to run a series of water safety workshops this coming half-term.

The sessions have been organised to coincide with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment’s launch on DVD of the hit movie Ice Age 2: The Meltdown on 23rd October, which sees main character Diego learn to swim. In all, around 50 children will have the opportunity to take part in a free swim session at Esporta Leisure Centres in Southampton, Bristol, and Wolverhampton on 25th, 26th and 27th October respectively.

Attending children will also be treated to a visit by Ice Age character Diego the Tiger himself, and will learn a number of tips for staying safe in and around water through a innovative water safety game which has been designed by STA. Sports star Du’aine Ledajo will also be attending the events to encourage participating youngsters.

STA Chief Executive, Roger Millward, said: “We are delighted to be involved in this high profile partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Esporta, and hope that the water safety workshops we are organising will successfully promote the water safety education message to many more parents and children across the UK.”
