If you’re a leisure centre general manager or duty manager, or if you’re responsible for managing and maintaining a pool or spa at your facility, we have qualifications that will cover what you need to ensure the safety of all users of your facility, whilst also complying with the health, safety and legal requirements of being a qualified operator.
Once You’re Qualified
Pool plant qualifications are a great progression route for those looking to gain additional leisure- and recreation-related qualifications to further their career with broader experiences in leisure management.
Following completion of water testing or treatment courses, learners can further their education and skills by moving onto the Pool Plant Operations qualification. Holders of a Pool Plant Operations qualification can even become a tutor and ensure the safety of swimmers everywhere by training others in safe pool management.
With a love for swimming I started off working within leisure as a lifeguard which later progressed to a duty manager role thanks to the STA Level 3 Award in Pool Plant Operations. Not only did I gain knowledge on plant rooms, water testing and treatment, I also became more confident and progressed with my career; I would highly recommend this course to anyone as it opens up many new opportunities.
