Rebecca Adlington OBE Announced as Keynote Speaker for STA Conference 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Rebecca Adlington OBE will be the keynote speaker at the 2025 STA Conference, taking place on Friday 17th – Saturday 18th October at the Radisson Blu Hotel, East Midlands Airport.

Rebecca is a four-time Olympic medallist and one of Britain’s most celebrated swimmers. She burst onto the world stage at just 19, making history at the 2008 Beijing Olympics by winning double gold in freestyle events – ending a 20-year wait for a British Olympic swimming champion. Her remarkable achievements have inspired a generation, and she remains one of the few athletes to claim gold at the Olympics, World, European, and Commonwealth Games.

Since retiring from competitive swimming, Rebecca has remained a passionate advocate for the sport. Through her media work and national initiatives, she continues to promote the importance of learning to swim and water safety. Alongside Steve Parry MBE and Adrian Turner, she co-founded swim! and Swim@, which now engage over 30,000 children every week. In early 2024, the nationwide brand became an STA Approved Training Centre (ATC), helping to support the next generation of swimming teaching professionals.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from one of swimming’s most inspiring figures – Rebecca will be speaking on Friday 17th October.
