This Christmas, STA is inviting swim schools across the UK to dive into some festive fun with SpongeBob SquarePants®, thanks to a brand-new Bikini Bottom Christmas Splash teaching resource pack.

The free downloadable pack includes five themed pool activities inspired by SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends, along with ideas for festive activities, pool decorations, and ready-to-use marketing assets – everything swim schools need to bring the magic of Bikini Bottom to their pools this December.

The Bikini Bottom Christmas Splash builds on STA’s long-standing collaboration with Paramount and Nickelodeon, and follows the success of the Baby Shark, PAW Patrol®, and SpongeBob SquarePants awards trilogy first launched in 2023.

Earlier this year, STA announced a five-year extension of its licensing partnership with Paramount and Nickelodeon, which will see the continued rollout of the PAW Patrol and SpongeBob SquarePants awards – and the exciting introduction of a brand-new series featuring DORA in 2026.

Jodie Davis, STA’s Aquatics Qualification Development Officer, said: “From PAW Patrol to SpongeBob SquarePants, we’ve seen how these character-based swim awards motivate and engage swimmers of all ages and abilities. They’re a fun, inclusive way to celebrate progress and make learning to swim even more enjoyable – especially at Christmas.”

Five Festive Activities
The Bikini Bottom Christmas Splash pack has been designed to help swim schools bring festive energy and creativity into lessons this December.

It features themed activities that can be adapted for all ages and abilities, and free digital marketing assets that swim schools can use to promote the sessions to parents and swimmers.

Jodie added: “We know how much swimmers and teachers love adding a touch of fun to lessons at this time of year, so this pack was created to make it easy for every swim school to join in. It’s a chance to celebrate progress, boost confidence, and end the year with some Christmas sparkle -all while having fun with SpongeBob and friends!”

Special Christmas Offer on SpongeBob Awards
To make this year’s campaign even more exciting, STA has also announced a special November discount on the full range of official SpongeBob “Dare to Be Square” badges via the STA Swim Shop.

This gives swim schools the opportunity to pass on savings to their swimmers who wish to purchase a badge and certificate as a keepsake after taking part in the Christmas activities.

“The Dare to Be Square badges have been hugely popular,” said Jodie. “They’re a fun and motivating way to recognise children’s efforts, and this festive offer allows swim schools to celebrate their learners’ achievements while adding a little extra Christmas cheer.”
