New! Awards in Celebration of STA’s 90th Anniversary

Today, officially marks the 90th anniversary of STA and in celebration of Mr Ross Eagle, who is recognised as the actual founder of the Association, we are launching a new Award in his honour, in respect of his pioneering vision and his dogged determination to improve swimming at a time when he faced such opposition.

The STA Ross Eagle Award will be awarded to an individual who has gone above and beyond for swimming during their career – someone who has been determined in their efforts and made a real difference to grassroots swimming, be it in their local community or on a larger scale nationally or internationally.

Any nomination must be backed by the fullest possible details of all work, efforts and contributions carried out by the nominee plus personal details on their career. This award is NOT available to employees of the STA, and STA’s Trustees will choose the finalists, which will be announced in the summer. The shortlisted nominees will then all be invited to STA’s conference, where the winner of the first STA Ross Eagle Award will be announced.

To submit a nomination for yourself or on behalf of someone, please complete the application form here by 30th June 2022.
