STA Partners with Swimathon for its 40th Anniversary!

STA is proud to announce its partnership with Swimathon for the charity event’s 40th anniversary celebrations, which includes free Swimathon places for STA members and their participants.
Swimathon, the world’s biggest fundraising swim, takes place in pools across the UK every spring and gives swimmers of all abilities the chance to challenge themselves to a distance that suits them, while raising funds for Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, and the Swimathon Foundation.
Originally launched in 1986 by the Guild of London Bath Managers in 12 London pools, Swimathon aimed to inspire more people to get swimming. By 1988, it had become a national annual event, and except for the Covid years, it’s been going strong ever since.
For 2026, more than 12,000 swimmers are expected to take on distance challenges of 500m, 1500m, 2500m, or 5k, either individually or as part of a team, at over 475 pools across the UK – raising over ÂŁ1 million for charity in the process.
As part of this partnership, STA members and all their swim school participants can take part for free as individuals or as part of a team. The special entry codes are available via STA Online. To register, visit www.swimathon.org.

Zoe Cooper, STA’s Commercial Director, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Swimathon for its 40th anniversary. It’s a fantastic event that celebrates everything we believe in – encouraging people of all ages and abilities to enjoy swimming, stay active, and make a positive impact. We can’t wait to see our members and their swimmers getting involved and supporting such meaningful causes.”
Join STA in celebrating 40 years of Swimathon – a fun, inspiring way to keep swimmers motivated, raise money for great causes, and promote the lifelong skill of swimming.
