Digital Training is on the Move

As part of our commitment to ensuring that we provide the highest possible quality of product we can, we are making a few changes to the services we provide through TrainSTA – our Virtual Learning Environment.

We feel that the current style of courses that TrainSTA has, and the system that supports them, is no longer sufficient for the needs of professionals looking to undertake online learning and gain Continuing Professional Development within their industry.

As such, STA is now in the process of migrating TrainSTA courses over to STA Online. Complete with interactive elements, enhanced quizzing and digital certification, the platform that STA Online provides for online learning is far superior to the current TrainSTA and represents the latest standard in virtual learning for the leisure industry. This change also provides greater convenience for users of our services, as the integration of TrainSTA into STA Online help creates a unified, one-login-for-all service for STA, whether it be course administration, online shopping through the STA Swim-Shop, or virtual learning through the new TrainSTA.

Starting with the Safeguarding programme, the Risk Assessment programme and the Pool Plant Reval/Conversion programme, existing TrainSTA courses will no longer be available on www.trainsta.co.uk, and will instead be accessed through STA Online. By June 30th 2014, all programmes on www.trainsta.co.uk will be migrated over to STA Online. In order to purchase and undertake these programmes, you must have an account on STA Online.

If you already have an STA Online account:

  1. Log into your account using the login bar at the top of the page
  2. Select TrainSTA from the STA Online dashboard, then click Purchase Programmes.

If you do not have an STA Online account:

  1. Go to www.sta.co.uk and click the Register Account link in the login bar at the top of the page, or click the button below
  2. Complete the registration form and log into STA Online
  3. Select TrainSTA from the STA Online dashboard, then click Purchase Programmes.

What this means for you.

Although the migrated programmes are no longer purchasable, if you have purchased a programme before it was migrated to STA Online, you will still be able to access your programme on www.trainsta.co.uk (this website will still be running after the move over to STA Online is complete). This is the same for users who have made a Group User purchase of TrainSTA programmes; you will still be able to invite candidates on to programmes and they will still be able to undertake and complete these programmes, and will still be certificated.

As TrainSTA programmes only have an access period of 6 months from the date of purchase, you should be aware that by December 30th 2014, users will no longer be able to undertake any programmes on www.trainsta.co.uk. It is at this point we will update the website to function in co-ordination with STA Online, and users will be able to make purchases on here for programmes on STA Online.

We’re here to help.

As the current TrainSTA will still be around for a while, STA’s Digital team will continue to provide help and support for users on both www.trainsta.co.uk and STA Online.

If you have any questions regarding this change, or if you require support using either system, STA’s Digital team can be contacted by phone on 01922 645097 or by email at help@sta.co.uk.
