Today is STAnley’s milestone 21st Birthday, and we want all UK swim schools to join in the celebrations with their young swimmers and take part in our ‘Design your own Zoggs Swimming Cap’ competition.

On 30th April 2002, STAnley was born, he was a bit of a scruffy pup then with no name – but with the help of Zoggs, his name was finally chosen. He soon grew up to be a fine-looking seal wearing his trademark red shorts and blue and white stripey swim top, while spreading the importance of how to #LoveWaterSafely – and putting smiles on children (and adults) faces all over the UK and beyond.

Such has been his popularity over the years, STAnley has had his own merchandise range, been photographed with Olympians, and is the star of his own Swim Awards series – the cheeky pup even has his own Giff!

To celebrate STAnley’s momentous birthday, we now want to see his cute, friendly face on a swimming hat – and given the historical connection, its only fitting it’s a Zoggs swimming hat, and they are offering one lucky young competition winner the opportunity to have their very own personalised design of STAnley printed onto a swim cap.

The winner will receive the personalised STAnley swim cap with their name printed, and 200 more of these designs will be produced by Zoggs for STA to raise funds to support water safety education in STAnley’s name.

Download the colouring-in template here, and email your students colourful designs of STAnley to marketing@sta.co.uk – include ‘STAnley’s 21st birthday’ in the subject header. The deadline for entries is the 24th May 2024 – why not use it as a fun activity to do during International Learn to Swim Week which runs from 13th – 19th May 2024.

All swim school entrants will also be able to download a special ‘thankyou’ certificate from STAnley for their students – and in STAnley tradition we also have a new 21st birthday colouring-in which can also be downloaded for free via STA Online.
