This strand offers Junior Lifeguards the opportunity to challenge themselves through further developing lifesaving and physical skills such as strength, speed, accuracy and stamina..

Learning Outcomes
  1. Perform a rope throw to a target 3 metres away
  2. Perform a rope throw to a casualty 5 metres away in 60 seconds
  3. Swim 40 metres in 60 seconds
  4. Swim 10 metres, perform a head first surface dive, swim 3 metres underwater, swim 10 metres
  5. Swim 80 metres using lifesaving medley

Learning Outcomes
  1. Perform a rope throw to a target 3 metres away in 2 minutes
  2. Perform a rope throw to a casualty 8 metres away in 60 seconds
  3. Swim 40 metres and casualty tow 10 metres in 1 minute 20 seconds
  4. Swim 20 metres, perform a head first surface dive, swim 3 metres underwater, retrieve a submerged object, swim 20 metres
  5. Swim 160 metres using lifesaving medley

  10. Perform a rescue tube rescue to a casualty 15 metres away

  6. Mount a boogie board, paddle for 3 minutes, catch a wave
  7. Perform a duck under on a boogie board and remount
  8. Mount boogie board, paddle 100 metres, turn and paddle 100 metres
  9. Swim 50 metres head up front crawl, run 200 metres, paddle 100 metres using a boogie board, perform a casualty pick up, run 25 metres to finish
  10. Run 50 metres, perform a rescue tube rescue to a casualty 25 metres away
