Seal Series

This is perfect for young swimmers who want to learn new fun skills. There are 5 levels to complete – Seal 1 to 5 – which progressively challenge learners to attain survival and rescue skills that can really save lives.

 

Learning Outcomes
  1. Perform a shout and signal rescue to a weak swimmer 5 metres away
  2. Perform a survival entry, tread water/float for 2 minutes, swim 5 metres to an aid, float using the H.E.L.P. position for 2 minutes
  3. Swim 10 metres front crawl, swim 10 metres head up front crawl, swim 10 metres side stroke, swim 10 metres breaststroke, swim 10 metres lifesaving backstroke
  4. Perform a wading rescue and tow to an unconscious casualty 5 metres away
  5. Swim 5 metres, perform a head first surface dive, swim 5 metres underwater

  3. Swim 50 metres front crawl, swim 50 metres head up front crawl, swim 50 metres side stroke, swim 50 metres breaststroke, swim 50 metres lifesaving backstroke
  4. Perform a wading rescue and tow to a unconscious casualty 15 metres away
  5. Swim 10 metres, perform a feet first surface dive, swim 5 metres underwater to retrieve an object

  2. Perform a survival entry, tread water/float for 4 minutes, remove footwear, swim 20 metres to an aid, swim with the aid for 20 metres and climb out unaided
  3. Swim 75 metres front crawl, swim 75 metres head up front crawl, swim 75 metres side stroke, swim 75 metres breaststroke, swim 75 metres lifesaving backstroke
  4. Perform a 20 metre unconscious casualty retrieval and contact tow
  5. Swim 15 metres, perform a feet first surface dive, swim 10 metres underwater to retrieve an object

Learning Outcomes
  1. Perform a wading rescue using a rigid aid to a weak swimmer 5 metres away
  2. Perform a survival entry, tread water/ float for 5 minutes, remove clothing, swim 20 metres to an aid, swim with the aid for 20 metres and climb out unaided
  3. Swim 100 metres front crawl, swim 100 metres head up front crawl, swim 100 metres side stroke, swim 100 metres breaststroke, swim 100 metres lifesaving backstroke
  4. Perform a 20 metre unconscious casualty retrieval, contact tow and breathing checks
  5. Swim 20 metres, perform a feet first surface dive, swim 10 metres underwater using butterfly leg action to retrieve an object

Learning Outcomes
  1. Complete Seal 1-5
  2. Complete a total of 10 missions, including one from each strand
